Course Information
The Basic Life Support on-site course is designed to give your team the skills and confidence to respond effectively in a medical emergency — from performing CPR to assisting an unconscious casualty until professional help arrives.
Key Topics Covered:
- The role of the first aider
- Assessing an incident
- CPR (adult, child & infant)
- Safe use of an AED (defibrillator)
- Managing choking
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- Recovery position
- Recognising and responding to anaphylaxis
All sessions are practical, interactive, and fully aligned with Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) guidelines, as well as GDC and CQC requirements for dental and medical practices.
Numbers
As per guidelines, one trainer can effectively deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) training for up to 12 delegates.
We offer flexible formats to suit your practice:
- Small group sessions (up to 6 delegates) – for more focused, hands-on learning.
- Full group sessions (up to 12 delegates) – maximising team training while maintaining quality.
- For larger practices, additional trainers can be arranged so every delegate receives effective instruction.
Duration
The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is delivered over half a day, requires 3 hours including breaks. It provides practical, hands-on training to equip learners with essential life-saving skills.
Assessment
This course has no formal written assessment, allowing learners to focus on building skills and confidence in a relaxed environment.
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance to acknowledge their participation and learning.
